A 25-year-old man is currently receiving treatment at Ahero Sub-County Hospital while in police custody, after allegedly hacking a 21-year-old man to death in Kore Village, Ombeyi area of Muhoroni Sub-County.

The suspect, Rodgers Otieno, was reportedly beaten nearly to death by enraged members of the public after he attacked the victim with a machete under unclear circumstances.

According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, Otieno inflicted severe wounds on the victim’s thighs, causing him to bleed profusely. The victim was rushed to Ahero Sub-County Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries due to excessive bleeding.

In retaliation, angry locals assaulted Otieno with crude weapons before he was rescued by the area chief and taken to the hospital. The suspect is now under police watch as investigators work to uncover the motive behind the killing.
