On Tuesday, a man was arrested in the Classic area near Nyeri town, Nyeri County, while carrying a human skull. Police reported that Joseph Maina was detained by local residents who suspected him of attempting to steal from a nearby residence on the outskirts of Nyeri town.

According to the police report, a human skull was discovered among Maina’s belongings during a search. The suspect, who is approximately 20 years old, was questioned and subsequently led authorities to a Napier grass farm about half a kilometer from the Nyeri police station.

A search of the area uncovered decomposing human body parts of an unidentified African, with no information available regarding the sex or age of the remains. The body parts were transported to the Nyeri mortuary for identification and post-mortem, as detectives began their investigation into the case.
