Information, Communication, and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has declared that the Nyanza region will back President William Ruto for a second term in the 2027 general election.

Addressing a church service in Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County on Sunday, Owalo emphasized that they are determined not to be sidelined from the upcoming government, highlighting the president’s initiation of numerous development projects in the region.

“Let me tell you a secret; we as the Nyanza region have decided that because of the projects President Ruto has kickstarted here, we will vote for him without fail come 2027,” said the ICT minister.
“We will not wait until he gets into office to start knocking on his door; we will back him from the start so that we can be in government.”

At the same time, Owalo reiterated that the government has begun the process of digitizing all markets across the country and providing training to the youth, emphasizing that this effort will significantly contribute to the creation of job opportunities. He mentioned that the national government plans to work closely with county leadership to establish digital hubs.
