Actress Mama Nyaguthii – real name Mary Adhiambo – from the popular show Papa Shirandula marked her 50th birthday in style.
Mama Nyaguthii narrated her near death experience stating that she never thought she would survive after she was critically ill.
“In 1994 if someone told me I would live to see this day I would have considered them a liar. I was critically ill that I never thought that even the month of December of that year would get me alive,” she wrote.
She added that her parents took her to all hospitals both high end and middle level but it never got any better.
“They exhausted all their savings but the situation remained the same,” she recounted.
Mama Nyaguthii as she is fondly referred to speaks with a deep Kikuyu accent in her acting role and is among the pioneer actors of the show but away from that, she has studied law.
She thanked her friends and family for making her life beautiful in so many ways.
“I however look back and see the hands of the most High. 29 years later I’m alive, healthy and happy. And today he has added me another year. As I start this new year, I give gratitude God, to my family, friends, colleagues and to you my friends here who have made my life beautiful. A happy blessed birthday it is.”
In a past interview, she talked about keeping her life in private.
She said the reason is that she does not like speaking about her private life, adding that some fans mistreat celebrities on social media.
