Equity Dumas team manager Zadock Adika has called on his charges to maintain the tempo as they prepare for the second leg of the Kenya Basketball Federation Men’s league.
Dumas were on flying start last weekend as they steamrolled Kenya University Pirates 84-42 to underline their title credentials this season.
“I believe that going to the second leg we will be even better but all in all we are happy that the team is showing some good progress even though we are still building. I know in a few weeks time or coming months we are going to be better, more solid and we will be able to establish our winning team.’’
Despite the convincing result against the varsity students, Adika says there is room for improvement.
“The game was very competitive. The players from KU really showed some resilience and some good resistance in some instances. The other good thing is that we were able to maintain a very high tempo throughout the game which enabled us to outplay our opponents,” he added.
Dumas fell to champions KPA in last year’s playoff finals. They are fourth on the log with 18 points having won seven of their 11 matches played so far.
The students on their side will conclude their first leg on Sunday when they face fellow varsity side USIU Tigers at Nyayo Gymnasium. They have played 10 games, winning one and losing nine, rooted at the bottom of the table with 11 points.
