A 37-year-old widow, Grace Auma Oyugi, spent Tuesday night in the cold after her house was allegedly torched by a man who had inherited her in Siaya County. The incident occurred in Karadolo East sub-location, Ugenya Sub County, after a dispute between Oyugi and the man, identified as Isaiah Goro.

Siaya County police commander Cleti Kimaiyo reported that the house was set on fire, forcing Oyugi to flee for her safety and take refuge in a neighboring home. Upon returning, she found her house razed down, with the 32-year-old Goro missing.

Oyugi reported the incident at Ratado police station, citing a loss of property worth an estimated Ksh.54,000. The suspect was later pursued, arrested, and is expected to appear in court in Ukwala on Wednesday.
