Police in Vijiweni, Likoni, Mombasa County are investigating a suspected suicide involving a 16-year-old girl who was found hanging from a door frame with a bed sheet around her neck. According to police, her brother discovered her at the scene, removed the bed sheet, and rushed her to St. Thomas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
At the scene, police found a suicide note revealing her distress and feelings of abandonment. The note read in part, “I told you what I was going through but you didn’t listen, I was tortured by those spirits and you didn’t help me and you still sent me back there to that school. I will no longer endure that pain, so this is goodbye.”
The body has been taken to Coast General Hospital for an autopsy.
In Busia, Namable division, a 45-year-old unidentified male was found injured and malnourished on the roadside in Mungatsi. Police officers from Nambale police station responded to the scene and discovered the man with visible injuries on his legs, ribs, and forehead. He was taken to Nambale Sub-County Hospital for treatment, and the case is under investigation.
In Nairobi’s Kayole division, a 30-year-old man named Kuria Njuguna Gadiel was rescued by police from a mob in Nasra Estate after attempting to break into a car. Police reported that he was caught breaking the rear left glass window of the vehicle with the intent to steal items.
His accomplices escaped in another car. Police officers from Soweto station processed the scene, and the man was admitted to Mama Lucy Hospital in serious but stable condition. The case is under investigation.
In Makueni, a resident discovered a man’s body while watering his farm along River Kati in Nthangu village.
The 40-year-old man, police said, had visible injuries on the back, ribs, and right hand, likely inflicted by a blunt object.
Police officers from Makueni station took the body to Makueni County Referral Hospital for identification and postmortem examination.
The case remains under investigation.
