A robbery suspect was on Monday apprehended after a police raid conducted in Marsabit.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), officers were hunting down 20-year-old Gayo Jattani who was allegedly involved in a robbery incident.

Officers, therefore, raided a house in Badassa village within Jaldesa location where Jattani was residing and later led the officers to where he hid the firearm used in the robbery.

Inside a bush within Marsabit National Park, an AK-47 rifle was recovered loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition.

“A further 33 rounds of ammunition, police jungle shirt, jungle belt and cleaning kit were also recovered,” wrote DCI.

Jattani is currently being held at Marsabit police station pending arraignment.
