The National Police Service on Friday, September 5, 2025, confirmed the recovery of a firearm and assorted stolen items during an intelligence-led operation in Kajiado County.
Through its official X handle, the NPS noted that the operation began on Thursday, September 4, in Kagio, Kirinyaga County, before being extended to Kiserian township in Kajiado.
According to the statement, officers intercepted a vehicle carrying individuals believed to have been on a surveillance mission.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a walkie-talkie, assorted SIM cards, mobile phones, spotlights, surgical gloves, and other items suspected to be used for criminal activities.
“During a search of the vehicle, police recovered a walkie-talkie, assorted SIM cards, mobile phones, spotlights, surgical gloves, and other items believed to be used for criminal activities,” the statement read in parts.
Firearm seized during Kiserian raid
The operation later shifted to a residential area in Kiserian township, where officers arrested another individual.
During a raid on the premises, police recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with ammunition, another walkie-talkie, several mobile phones, a tear gas canister, and various house-breaking implements.

The scene was processed by crime scene investigators and documented by senior officers from Rongai and Kiserian. Authorities confirmed that all individuals linked to the matter remain in custody as investigations continue.
The National Police Service commended the swift action of its officers and reassured members of the public of its determination to deal with organised crime.
