Controversial artiste Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has spoken out about her short-lived marriage with Swiss husband Denis Schweizer, also known as ‘Omosh,’ declaring that she doesn’t recognise the union that lasted only two months.
Addressing attendees at her graduation ceremony on Friday, December 8, the mother of five took pride in being the only celebrity who tied the knot and ended the marriage within the same year.
“My wedding was brief, but if the wedding fails, education shines. My wedding lasted for two months, and I realised there were things I did not do before the wedding, and we ended it.
I don’t recognise that wedding at all. I would like to tell people not to be angry that the other wedding failed. People should be ready for another wedding,” Akothee boldly proclaimed.
In November, Akothee confirmed that she had initiated divorce proceedings with Denis Schweizer, widely known as ‘Omosh.’
Shedding light on her decision, she revealed the challenges that led to the end of their marriage just two months after their glamorous wedding in April 2022.
During a Live session with her social media fans, Akothee disclosed that she made the crucial choice to walk away from the relationship back in June.
The breakup occurred during their honeymoon in July 2023 when Omosh realized there were aspects of their relationship he couldn’t tolerate.
“Omosh is not the first man in my life. So, from today henceforth, know that it is done and dusted with Omosh. I walked out of the relationship back in June. I normally walk out of a relationship when I am still in the relationship. When we were on honeymoon, I found out some things that I could not keep up with, and then he asked me if I would dump him, and I said no, ‘I love you.’ When I was living in Switzerland in July 2023, at the airport, he asked me, ‘Will you leave me?’ I said no honey, I love you but for sure, I had already left,” Akothee explained.
