Ian Nene, the actor who captured Kenyan hearts as Almasi on the beloved children’s show Machachari, is back on social media timelines for a very relatable reason: he wants people to leave him alone.
In a video posted to his Instagram on Thursday, September 24, Nene delivered a comedic but emphatic public service announcement directed at anyone who has ever bothered him unnecessarily.
Why does Almasi want to be left alone?
The clip, captioned “It’s that simple. Just do it,” was filmed in a close-up, handheld selfie style against a plain indoor wall, complete with bold on-screen text reading:
“Public service announcement” and a recurring “Send this to someone who needs to hear it!” overlay.
The video features Nene rapping and speaking in an exasperated tone, running through a list of reasons why he deserves his peace.
“Leave me alone, leave me alone, don’t ask me questions, I ain’t even got my number on your phone,” he says.
He goes on to question why someone he barely knows would stress him out, eventually wrapping up with a heartfelt:
“Please. Please.”
