Police in Rongai, Nakuru County have announced the arrest of a 19-year-old man, Ezekiel Mwangi, who is linked to a series of “brutal murders” in what they describe as a “significant breakthrough.”

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mwangi has been under surveillance and is suspected of being the mastermind behind multiple heinous crimes. The DCI reported that on July 14, 2024, Mwangi allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered five-year-old Alice Ayuma Blessing, whose body was found in a maize plantation in the Mwangaza area.

“On August 7, 2024, in Kalyet, Mwangi is suspected of killing 34-year-old Mueni Mwalimu by striking her on the head with a blunt object and stabbing her in the stomach,” said the investigative agency.

Additionally, on August 8, 2024, at Mustard Seed in Kiamunyi, near the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, Mwangi allegedly raped and murdered 28-year-old Moraa Mugambi by hitting her on the head with a rungu. He is currently being held at Menengai Police Station, awaiting arraignment, according to detectives.
