Dorothy Muli, a 33-year-old woman from Embakasi, achieved a remarkable medical milestone one month ago by giving birth to quintuplets. Unfortunately, one of the infants passed away shortly after birth, leaving Muli with four surviving babies.

Initially, she anticipated having just one baby, but as the pregnancy progressed, scans revealed she was expecting not one, two, or three, but four babies. To her surprise, during her caesarean section, doctors discovered a fifth baby.

“From the first scan, ilionyesha watoto wanne, hata nikienda theatre I knew ni wanne. Procedure ikanza wakatoa watoto wanne then surgeon akasema kuna mwingine akatoa wakakua watano,” Muli says.

“From the first scan, it showed four infants. Even when I went to the theater, I knew they were four. The procedure began, and I gave birth to four, then the surgeon said there was another one,” Muli explained.

The unexpected arrival of the quintuplets has brought significant challenges, as the new mother is facing health complications, including high blood pressure and heart strain. Due to her health issues, Muli is unable to breastfeed her newborns, who now depend on formula for their nutrition.
