Three individuals have been killed in a shooting attack at the border crossing between Jordan and the occupied West Bank, according to Israeli officials.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the attack occurred at the Allenby Bridge crossing, where three Israeli civilians were killed. The assailant, who approached from the Jordanian side in a truck, disembarked and opened fire, the IDF stated.

Security forces “neutralized” the attacker, and the IDF is currently examining the truck for potential explosives, according to their statement. Medics identified the victims as men in their 50s.

Jordan has closed its side of the border and is investigating the incident. The attack took place in an area controlled by Israel where Jordanian vehicles unload goods destined for the West Bank. The crossing, also known as the King Hussein Bridge, is situated almost halfway between Amman and Jerusalem and is the only official crossing point between the West Bank and Jordan.
