A farmer in Bungoma’s Lwakhakha area is seeking assistance in recovering his eight stolen cows. The 61-year-old, identified by police as Jialo Masinde, discovered his herd—comprising three bulls, three cows, and two calves, valued at Sh240,000—missing upon waking up.
Officers from Lwakhakha Police Station investigated the scene and determined that the cattle had been tethered in his compound before being taken by unknown individuals during the night. The robbers reportedly drove the cattle to an unknown location, and police are actively working to trace them, with updates to follow.
In other incidents, a fire broke out on Tuesday night at 9:30 PM in the Reuben slums of Nairobi, following a report received from Railway B Zone. Preliminary investigations indicate the fire originated in one of the rooms and spread to 268 units. The Nairobi fire brigade managed to contain the fire, and fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported.
Later that night, at 11:07 PM, another fire erupted at a scrap metal store opposite White House in Lang’ata, destroying properties of unknown value. Police investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by arson, leading to the arrest of a suspect. The fire brigade contained this fire as well, with no injuries or loss of life reported. Officers from Lang’ata Police Station attended the scene and took necessary action.
