Police have arrested another suspect linked to the brutal murder of Mombasa-based taxi driver Victoria Mumbua Muloki, whose body was found dumped in a thicket near Lari, Kiambu County, in September 2024.

Martin Asembo Masemo, 32, is believed to be an accomplice of the main suspect, Edwin Ng’etich. Police believe he played a role in the murders of Victoria and Migori-based driver George Njuguna Ndung’u, who was killed on July 31, 2024.

“Masemo is believed to be an accomplice of Edwin Kipngetich, who is already facing charges in the Nakuru High Court,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said in a statement on X on Friday.

“He will appear in court for a custodial order application to allow the investigators to conclude their investigations.”

In a separate incident, DCI detectives also arrested a 39-year-old woman in connection with the murder of Maxwell Wamwea, a Kasarani resident, on May 11, 2022. Wangari Kirisa was arrested at an Airbnb in Thindigua, Kiambu County.

The case was initially reported to Kasarani Police Station as a mob justice incident. However, after receiving a complaint letter on November 19, 2023, the DCI launched new investigations.

“After reviewing the resulting file, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) recommended that Wangari, along with another suspect who is still at large, be charged with the murder of the deceased,” said the DCI.

Kirisa will be arraigned in court on Friday, February 21, 2025.
