An Assistant Chief in Londiani, Kericho County, Douglas Koech Kipkemoi, aged 42, has been arrested on charges of allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl. The incident reportedly occurred near his home in Kabianga Sub-location on Wednesday, July 10, according to a police report.
“It was established that on the 11th day of July 2024 at about 1700 hrs the child complained of pain in her genital area while she was urinating which prompted her mother to inquire from her what had happened.”
“The child then disclosed that she was defiled by one Douglas Koech Kipkemoi aged 42 years (Ass. Chief Kabianga Sub-location)the previous day, 10th July 2024 at about 1900 hrs near the suspect’s home,” reads the police report.
The assistant chief surrendered to police following agitation of members of the public for fear of being lynched.
“Both the victim and suspect were escorted to Londiani Sub-county Hospital for medical examination and necessary action taken,” adds the police report.
The suspect is set to be arraigned at the Molo Law Courts.
