Aston Villa are beginning to gear up for the 2025/26 season after missing out on Champions League football last time around.

Having fallen to a controversial defeat against Manchester United on the final day, Unai Emery won’t want to leave a top-four finish down to chance this time around.

The Villans are yet to confirm a first-team signing, with the only addition at this stage being Zepiqueno Redmond, who has joined the youth ranks on a free transfer from Feyenoord.

The Villa faithful are hopeful of further signings moving deeper into the summer, with any new faces set to link up with the side at some stage of pre-season.

With that being said, Villa News has highlighted everything you need to know about the summer schedule in B6.

In the past week, certain members of the squad have returned to Bodymoor Heath to kick-start training after a post-season break.

This has seen footage emerge of the likes of Tyrone Mings, Ross Barkley, Andres Garcia and Pau Torres among others in the Midlands.

It is yet to be seen how soon other stars will join the early training sessions, especially with the tradition of Walsall away coming up on Wednesday 16 July.

This will shortly be followed by a trip to Germany to face Hansa Rostock at Ostseestadion, just three days later, on Saturday 19 July.

The full-time whistle against the 3.Liga side will then make way for an American tour with clashes coming up against Eintracht Frankfurt (27 July), St. Louis City SC (31 July), and Nashville SC (2 August).

This busy schedule won’t let up once returning from the States, with another clash at Walsall taking precedent, this time against AS Roma on Wednesday 6 August.

Then two squads of Villa stars will travel to two different countries as clashes on 9 and 10 August await, with the first being played against Marseille at the Stade Velodrome, while the latter will be played against Villarreal at the home of the Yellow Submarine.

As is tradition for the claret and blue faithful, their pre-season will open up with a clash against League Two Walsall.

The Saddlers are coming off the back of a disappointing capitulation, which saw them throw away a comfortable place at the league table before also losing in the play-off final at Wembley.

As a result, there will be high expectations for the Bescot club moving forward, even if there won’t be hopes of competing much with Emery’s men.

This will leave Villa in a good place to secure a win, leaving fans hopeful of watching a win to kick off their busy pre-season.

Any fans who are unable to attend in person will be able to keep up with the game on Villa TV, where each friendly will be shown this summer.

Access to the service comes as part of a season ticket at Villa Park, while also featuring as part of a membership, something that will cost £50 for the year, but cover any buyers for all of pre-season, among other benefits.
