An autopsy conducted on the body of Emmanuel Kimtai has revealed that the 12-year-old boy was sodomised before being choked to death.

The body of the grade two pupil was dumped at the Koilel area in the Ainabkoi constituency on March 23.

Eric Kiptoo Kipsang, a key suspect in the murder case is said to have dropped the body and sped off to his home in Kapsoya, Eldoret town.

He later fled, prompting police to launch a manhunt.

Kiptoo was later arrested by police officers, after which he complained of chest pains and was taken to the hospital. He was then pronounced dead on Sunday, March 26.

Ainabkoi OCPD Alois Muthoka said Kiptoo attempted suicide at a nearby dam, and appeared to be under influence of drugs.

“The suspect was received by the police with deep cuts on both hands,” he said.

The minor’s family has now begun funeral plans and has asked philanthropists and the government to help them as his mother is incapacitated.
