Opposition Party, Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition has suspended its participation in the bipartisan talks with Kenya Kwanza.

The two sides suspended the talks to resolve the issue of membership to the Bipartisan Committee.

In a statement, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna said the move follows the inclusion of Eldas MP Adan Keynan by Kenya Kwanza and Pokot South MP David Pkosing by Azimio la Umoja.

“The Azimio team has suspended its participation in the bipartisan talks until such time as Hon. Keynan who remains a member of Azimio shall not be included as part of the Kenya Kwanza delegation,” said Senator Sifuna.

On Thursday last week, the two factions met and noted the concerns raised about its composition, formalization and the nature of talks whether parliamentary or extra parliamentary and resolved to engage the appointing authorities’ the statement states.

During the inaugural meeting, they settled on Rarieda MP Otiende Amolo (Azimio) and Tharaka MP George Murugara (Kenya Kwanza) to spearhead the talks.
