Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition has called for the resignation of the Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu over her handling of Jubilee party wrangles.
Speaking on behalf of Azimio on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, former Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eugene Wamalwa stressed the coalition’s commitment to stand with the Jubilee party as he accused Nderitu of working at the behest of Kenya Kwanza regime.
“Make no mistake, Azimio will do anything possible to protect affiliate parties,” Wamalwa said.
He further called on the Registrar of Political Parties to resign claiming she was openly biased.
“The Registrar of Political Parties Mrs Anne Nderitu must leave office in view of clear manifestation that she has been coopted into partisan and illegal schemes by Kenya kwanza to cripple instead of protecting political parties,” Wamalwa said.
“Anne Nderitu no longer enjoys the confidence of her clients who are political parties and whom by her mandate she is supposed to strengthen not to weaken as she is doing,” he added.
The former Defence CS further censured Nderitu for not implementing the decision of Jubilee’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) on Monday, May 22, 2023, where several National Executive Committee (NEC) members were removed.
Jubilee party’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said that the Registrar of Political Parties backdated letters in her mission to kill parties.
“The special National Delegates Conference that we had at Ngong Racecourse on Monday 22nd was convened by the party leader his Excellency Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. Our party’s constitution does not require a NEC resolution for the party leader to convene the NDC. So we see the registrar of political parties on a very interesting mission here to hunt for reasons to just kill political parties in this country. Clearly, we saw her backdating letters. The letters she is using trying to justify her cause are dated 19,” Kioni said.
Kioni added that the Registrar of Political Parties has continued to falsify documents to sustain the unnecessary coup in the Jubilee party.
“Falsifying government documents is a criminal offence and this lady is clearly guilty of a criminal offence. She has continued to falsify those documents and that is what has sustained these unnecessary coup attempts that you see that have become part of our entertainment every day,” Kioni said.
