Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has become the first player to win the Kopa Trophy for two consecutive years.
Yamal was announced as the 2025 winner during the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday night.
The 19-year-old beat off competition from Désiré Doué (Paris Saint-Germain), Estêvão Willian (Palmeiras/Chelsea), João Neves (Paris Saint-Germain) and Kenan Yıldız (Juventus) to claim the prize.
The award is given to the best performing player worldwide under the age of 21. Previous winners include Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.
Yamal is also in contention for the main Ballon d’Or award, alongside Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain.
