Police in Kisumu are making efforts to retrieve the beheaded body of a man spotted floating in a river in Chemelil area on Tuesday.
According to a police report, two men who had gone fishing along the river spotted a floating body.
The decaying body was wrapped in a green sack.
Police officers were informed, arrived at the scene and confirmed that the body was headless.
Efforts to retrieve the body from the river were futile due to darkness and the depth of the river.
The operation was called off and is set to resume this morning, where a team of scene of crime personnel from Kisumu are also expected to join in.
