Police in Konoin, Bomet county are looking for a 45-year-old man who allegedly defiled an 11-year-old girl at Iria Maina village.
The suspect, Richard Koech, was allegedly found red-handedly defiling the girl behind a shop within the village.
The area chief Kaptien location Erick Milgo said the suspect managed to escape and disappeared to an unknown place.
Milgo said the minor was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical examination and the results were positive.
“We have reported the matter to the police and they have already commenced the search for the suspect and once he is arrested he will face the full force of the law,” Milgo lamented.
Daisy Chepkemoi the mother of the victim said she was on the farm when she developed an unusual feeling and rushed back home to check on their children but to her surprise found Koech in the act.
Chepkemoi said she was completely shocked when her daughter narrated the ordeal she had gone through.
She said her daughter had been threatened that she would be killed if she reveal anything.
“My daughter revealed to me that she had been harshly threatened and defiled not once by the same suspect,” Chepkemoi narrated.
Chepkemoi asked the police to ensure the suspect is arrested and taken to court.
