A conflict has arisen between Brian Chira’s grandmother, Esther Njeri, and TikTok personality Faustine Lipuku Lukale, aka Baba Talisha.
During a recent live interview, Brian Chira’s grandmother, claimed that she had not received the full amount of money collected during her grandson’s funeral.
Brian Chira, a TikTok personality, was buried at his grandmother’s home in Githunguri on Tuesday, March 26.
The discord began when TikTok user Obidan went live to address rumours about the funds raised for Chira’s funeral.
The elderly grandmother accused Baba Talisha and his alleged wife, Brenda Wanjiku, of controlling everything.
“It’s like I was blindfolded. They even took away my mobile phone. People called me to send money but they couldn’t reach me; it felt like disrespect,” she said.
When asked about the amount she received, she explained:
“We are still waiting to know the total amount in the account. Baba Talisha was in charge of the account and all related matters. They took away my phone, so I had no access to it during the period when the Kenyans were contributing funds.
Regarding the cost of buying the land, she said:
“I bought a piece of land with a house on it that needs renovation. We are surprised as to why there’s a delay in releasing the full amount to me. Baba Talisha and I went to buy the land together.
“We initially deposited Sh1.5 million for the purchase. I currently owe Sh1 million and so far a total of Sh2.5 million has been paid,” she added.
The house together with the land cost Sh2.5 million.
Expressing her distress, she added: “I am not even feeling well. They keep calling and insulting me, making my condition worse”.
“They informed me that the money belongs to the public. They threatened to withdraw all the money from the bank. They have all my PINs and I am scared,” she continued.
She also revealed that she had given Baba Talisha Sh212,000 and claimed that she had not received the Sh40,000 she had contributed during the funeral.
“I am still servicing debts whose origin remains unknown to me.”
Baba Talisha was forced to respond to allegations made by Brian Chira’s grandmother on TikTok that he had mismanaged Sh8 million raised for her grandson’s funeral.
In response, Baba Talisha said: “I have been told everything on this earth. People said I became famous because of Chira’s funeral. No, it is because of the grace of God. I have the grace of God. I even quit the page I used to contribute to Chira’s funeral. People say fear men, but no, it should be fear women”.
He added: “Never regret the kindness you showed to someone who didn’t deserve it. They did you wrong, you did them right and you should be proud of that. I respect you as a grandmother, I will never disrespect the elderly. I will leave everything to God. He knows the truth”.
Baba Talisha was in charge of collecting funds raised during the funeral of TikToker, Brian Chira.
