Occupants of a multi-storey building in the Kahawa West area of Nairobi are feared to be trapped following its collapse on Sunday morning. The Kenya Red Cross and the Nairobi County Government have confirmed the incident and dispatched response teams to the site.

Nairobi County Executive for Built Environment Patrick Mbogo stated that occupants of nearby buildings will also be evacuated as a precautionary measure. The exact number of people in the collapsed building remains unknown.
