The head teacher of a primary school in Buteba village, Teso South sub-county, Busia county, was fatally shot by assailants who raided his house and made away with money that had been stored in boxes.
According to Charles Emoto’s widow, Prisca Amoit, thugs raided their house on Wednesday night, armed with guns and axes and stole money in two boxes.
“The money included collections from members of a group the couple belonged to,” she said.
Emoto was the head teacher of Ong’arima Primary School.
Confirming the incident, Teso South sub-county police commander Amos Ambasa and officer Said Majumbo said investigations are underway.
They called on members of the public with any information on the culprits to report to the nearest police station.
