A mother from Enakaywa village, Busia county is appealing for public support after her home was allegedly set ablaze in the middle of the night, leaving her children in grave danger and the family with nothing to their name.
The fire reportedly broke out at around 1am, with the children still inside the house at the time.
The woman told NEWSUNPLUG.co.ke she had stepped away when the inferno took hold, and it was only the quick response of neighbours who noticed the spreading flames that prevented a tragedy.
The children were pulled to safety before the blaze destroyed everything the family owned.
Cause of Busia house fire yet to be established
The house sits close to Enakaywa Primary School, and the incident has rattled the surrounding community.
Every household item, from bedding to clothing and cooking utensils, was reduced to ash.
The cause of the fire has not been established, and the circumstances surrounding how it started remain unclear.

Busia family lacks shelter, possessions after house fire
Many have questioned the conscience of whoever could allegedly start a fire knowing children were inside the house.

The family currently has no shelter and no possessions. Anyone wishing to offer assistance to the woman and her children can reach out through local community channels.
