Riccardo Calafiori will miss Italy’s Nations League match against Israel due to a calf injury, as announced by the Italian football federation on Sunday.
The FIGC stated that Calafiori, who suffered a bruised left calf during Italy’s 3-1 victory over France in Paris on Friday, will return to Arsenal for treatment. The injury occurred when Ousmane Dembele collided with Calafiori’s calf after being tackled by Alessandro Bastoni.
Italy, who had a disappointing exit from the European Championship last summer in the last-16, will face Israel in Budapest on Monday night. Luciano Spalletti’s team is currently tied on three points in Group A2 with Belgium, who defeated Israel 3-1 on Friday.
