Silvance Adongo Abeta, the individual who was arrested last week for allegedly making false claims about Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s involvement in a plot to harm Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro, is now facing additional troubles.

Abeta claims that his bank accounts and mobile SIM cards have been blocked, making it difficult for him to post bail or pay his legal fees.

“Hi family, they have blocked all my SIM cards and access to my bank accounts. I can’t post bail or pay my lawyer in time. I am currently at Industrial Area remand prison,” part of the X post read.

Abeta, who is known to use the pseudonymous Twitter account “Karen Wanjiku HSC,” took to the same account to share the challenges he is currently facing.

In his posts, he expressed frustration over his inability to access funds for bail or legal representation while being detained at the Industrial Area remand prison.

On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Abeta appealed to his supporters via Twitter, urging them to contact his lawyer, Mr Emmanuel, and make financial contributions to secure his release from Muthaiga Police Station.

“Hello family? Please bail me out; I am currently at Muthaiga Police Station. Send your contributions to my lawyer,” the tweet read in part.

Abeta’s arrest occurred on September 9, 2023, when detectives from the DCI special crime unit apprehended him in Muthinga Area, Kikuyu Sub-County, Kiambu County.

An affidavit, signed by a senior officer at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road, described Abeta as a “notorious cyberbully” who operated a parody Twitter account.

The affidavit further revealed that Abeta had been using this parody account to disseminate false information and engage in cyberbullying against various individuals.

One of his tweets, which claimed that a local newspaper would publish a story about an alleged conspiracy to harm MP Ndindi Nyoro, led to his arrest.

Law enforcement authorities noted that one of the devices used to log into the Twitter account was found in Abeta’s possession at the time of his arrest.

The case remains under investigation, and Abeta awaits legal proceedings for the charges against him.
