Catholic priest shot dead in Elgeyo Marakwet

A Catholic Priest, Father Alloyce Cheruiyot Bett, has been shot and killed by suspected bandits at Tot area in Kerio Valley, Elgeyo Marakwet.

Elgeyo Marakwet County Police Commander Peter Mulinge confirmed the incident, saying the priest was on his way to a church service when the incident occurred.

The police boss indicated that further investigations are ongoing to track down the attackers.

This comes as a major security operation continues in the area, with police officers working to maintain peace.
