President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene has urged Kenyans to take up local tourism and explore different destinations in the country, in a bid to boost the sector.
Charlene said this while enjoying a visit to Lake Bogoria in the Rift Valley region, where she enjoyed boiled eggs from the hot springs.
The first daughter could be seen boiling the eggs with the help of a guide, and later ate them.
“If you haven’t done this while there you are missed out. They were very yummy. Kenya is and will always be my favourite destination to tour,” she shared.
Charlene has publicly involved herself in charitable activities, among them championing for environmental conservation.
Lake Bogoria is a famous tourist attraction thanks to its many hot springs. They are estimated to be at least 200.
Both foreign and domestic tourists flock the lake to enjoy cooking food in the springs, and watch birds.
Other foods mostly cooked in the hot springs are potatoes and arrow roots.
