A postmortem of the body of Kelvin Kiptanui Chemase Secondary School Form one student who died while undergoing treatment at Nandi hills county hospital has failed to show the cause of death.

Dr Simon Omuok, a government pathologist who led the operation said further analysis is needed to establish the real cause of death of the 16-year-old student who is alleged to have died after corporal punishment from his teachers at school.

“Most of the organs that we have operated on need to be investigated in detail to end any suspicious thoughts. The samples have been taken for further analysis at Government Laboratories,” the doctor stated.

Omuok who was accompanied by the Nandi-Hills hospital acting medical superintendent Elkana Chirchir, said he had handed over his report to the county criminal investigation officer Douglas Chikanda for action

The postmortem exercise took over four hours as family members among them Kiptanui’s mother Monica cherobon, relatives, school representatives and police waited patiently in the morgue

The government pathologist was hesitant to make public his report saying they had agreed with the family representatives to leave the matter with the DCI and further findings from government laboratories
