A road accident at Ngata Bridge area in Nakuru, which involved a truck and a matatu claimed the life of one child.

According to Nakuru West police commander Francis Wahome, the truck, which was carrying maize broke down and hit a matatu in the Sunday night incident.

The police commander said the truck encountered a brake failure, hitting a steel bridge. As a result, its fuel tank was punctured and it caught fire.

“The other vehicle had six occupants, who complained of minor injuries. The truck had a Sudanese registration number,” Wahome said.
