Choice Gatwiri Kinoti, the woman who recently went viral after appearing in a video with a Russian man, has now expressed deep regret over accepting Ksh30,000 from Salvation Healing Ministry founder Pastor Victor Kanyari.

Speaking in a video shared by SPM Buzz on Instagram on Thursday, February 26, 2026, Choice admitted that taking the money has since placed her in one of the most difficult dilemmas of her life.

“Yes, I was given Ksh30,000 in cash by Pastor Kanyari, and I regret accepting it. I deeply regret it because I am currently going through one of the hardest dilemmas of my life,” she narrated.

She explained that she had been visibly tense and shaken at the time she attended the service at Kanyari’s church, circumstances she says the preacher picked up on before delivering a sermon centred on humility and accepting help.

According to Choice, the message emphasised that no one should be too proud to receive assistance, with references to biblical teachings and even examples of prominent figures seeking support from others.

It is this line of preaching, she says, that ultimately convinced her to accept the money, despite her initial resistance.

“When Kanyari saw that I was shaking and tense after going to his church, he began preaching that you should not be too proud to accept help. He said that even great people have had to pass through a man of God, and that when God wants to lift you, He uses people, just as He did even in the time of Jesus. That is also why I later posted on Instagram about Jesus, the fish, and the coins,” she added.

The young woman insisted that she never wanted the cash from the beginning, maintaining that she did not wish to sell herself out for Ksh30,000.

She noted that the money was not enough to change her life.

“He used the word to convince me, because from the beginning, I did not want Pastor Kanyari’s money. I did not want that money because I did not want to sell myself out for Ksh30,000, and also because that amount cannot really help me in any significant way,’ she said.

She added that she felt manipulated by the way scripture was used to persuade her into reconsidering her stance.

“I only accepted it because of the message he preached about accepting help. He even said that you cannot be an island and that when you refuse help, it may mean you are too proud. That made me start questioning myself and wondering if I was being proud,” she said.

Choice further revealed that she had even contemplated returning the money shortly after receiving it but was discouraged by some of the people she confided in, who advised her against doing so.

“I now wish I had returned the money to the preacher. In fact, I told some people that I wanted to return it, but they advised me not to,” she added.
