Chuka University Student Wins Resilience Award at Global Quant Championship in Singapore

A Chuka University student has earned international recognition after winning the Resilience Award at the 2026 International Quant Championship (IQC) Global Finals held in Singapore.

Mary Odhiambo, a student in Chuka University’s Faculty of Science and Technology, was among participants from across the world competing in the prestigious global competition.

Kenya’s flag high in Singapore Her performance earned her the Resilience Award, recognising her perseverance and determination in a highly competitive field.

The 2026 IQC attracted an extraordinary 156,029 registrations from 167 countries and more than 13,000 universities worldwide, placing Mary’s achievement on a major international stage.

Mary’s achievement also marked an important milestone for Chuka University. The university made its second consecutive appearance at the IQC Global Finals, having also been represented at the international competition in 2025.

According to the university, this makes Chuka the only university to have been represented at the global finals in both 2025 and 2026.

Competition recognised by Guinness World Records

Chuka University celebrated Mary’s achievement as evidence of its growing ability to identify and nurture students capable of competing on the global stage.

The 2026 global finals were held in Singapore and attracted participants from a wide range of countries and universities.

The event also saw the International Quant Championship receive Guinness World Records recognition for the largest financial competition.
