Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has been appointed United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General as Veronica Maina exits.

In a press briefing on Monday, the UDA party said Malala will replace Veronica Maina who is now serving as a Nominated Senator.

His appointment, the party said, came after an NEC meeting where the resolutions were made.

Also making the list of new appointments is Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire who has replaced Johnson Muthama as the party Chairperson.

Ms Mbarire will be deputised by EALA MP Hassan Omar who is replacing Kipruto arap Kirwa.

Meanwhile, Kitutu Chache North MP Japheth Nyakundi has been appointed the party Treasurer, while Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka is the new UDA Organising Secretary, replacing Karisa Nzai.
