Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has said they beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final, because of how they set the tempo in the opening 10 minutes.

The Blues ran out 3-0 winners in Sunday’s final, thanks to three first-half goals.

Cole Palmer scored a double, before setting up new boy Joao Pedro for what was the last game of the goal.

Speaking to DAZN after the game, Maresca said: “For me we won the game in the first ten minutes.

“In the first ten minutes we set the tempo for the way we want to play. We were very good.
“Unfortunately with the weather conditions it is not easy to do for 90 minutes, but I think we won the game in the first ten minutes.”

On Palmer’s performance against PSG, Maresca added: “Today we found a position for him where there was space to attack.

“Happy for Cole but the effort from all the players has been fantastic.”
