The Mombasa County government has received a biopsy machine meant to improve health service provision at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Speaking during the launch of the critical medical equipment, Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir said it will go a long way in treating patients with prostate complaints through minimally invasive means.

He said it would also assist doctors in undertaking guided biopsies to yield more reliable test results in the treatment of cancer.

The modern equipment was donated by AstraZeneca and Mediglobe Solutions at a cost of Ksh.16.5 million.
