Diamond Platnum dropped a hell-themed performance this past weekend at the ongoing Wasafi Festival.
The Bongo singer thrilled fans with a rather scary performance in Lindi, Raungwa district where he got on stage while being carried in a coffin.
Several caskets were carried to the stage with men dressed in hooded religious-like regalia as if performing some sort of satanic ritual.
A photo of Diamond with demon-like red eyes was projected on the huge screen on the stage before the singer emerged from the coffin to perform.
Diamond’s bizarre performance ignited a wave of conservative backlash, with many accusing him of devil worshipping.
Several conservative figures stormed social media in the aftermath of the performance to detest Diamond for ‘inducting’ unsuspecting revellers into a satanic ritual.
Insane experience
While many conservatives were melting down over Diamond’s performance, the singer took to social media to talk about his experience.
The ‘Achii’ hitmaker admitted he was also scared to get in the coffin for his performance in Lindi.
“Coming out from the Coffin was an insane Experience last night, was scared as f*ck in there! 👽☠️🎃🧌,” Diamond wrote.

Wasafi Festival
Wasafi Festival is an annual music event organized by Diamond Platnumz’s Wasafi brand.
The inaugural Wasafi Festival was held in December 2018 and since then the music event has been held annually from September to December in various cities and towns across Tanzania.
The Wasafi Festival features performances by various artistes signed to Wasafi Records as well as other notable musicians from Tanzania and the African music scene.
Harmonize rebuffed calls by Diamond to perform at this year’s edition of Wasafi Festival even as Rayvanny, Ommy Dimpoz and other musicians joined the Wasafi caravan.
