CONMEBOL on Wednesday sanctioned Uruguay players involved in the fight between fans and players following the semi-final match between Colombia and Uruguay at the 2024 Copa América.

DAILY POST recalls that Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez was at the centre of a fight with Colombia fans following his side’s 1-0 defeat against Colombia during the Copa America.

Jefferson Lerma netted the only goal of the match in the first half as Colombia qualified for the final, which they eventually lost against champions Argentina.

Here are the Uruguayan sanctioned by CONMEBOL:

Darwin Núñez (5 matches)

Rodrigo Betancur (4 matches)

Mathias Olivera (3 matches)

Ronald Araujo (3 matches)

Josema Gimenez (3 matches)

The suspension, however, applies only to the national team.
