The family of the late South African rapper Costa Titch has blasted the South African National Health Laboratory Services for delaying toxicology results meant to reveal what killed Titch.
Costa Titch, real name Constantinos Tsobanoglou, collapsed and died while performing at a music festival in Johannesburg on March 12, 2023.
Close to three months since the death, his mother has called out those responsible for doing the tests, for what she says is delaying investigations into what killed her son.
Taking to Instagram, the grieving mother said this means even investigators cannot proceed without the toxicology results.
“The National Health Laboratory Services can take months or even years to finalise toxicology results. This means I am not the only mother in South Africa that has to wait for answers. It also means if anyone did poison my son, they could get away with murder. I’m pleading for help to get answers as even the police cannot do anything without these medical results,” she said.
Titch was performing at Ultra South Africa when he collapsed on stage. A video shared online showed someone near him lifting him up, but the rapper collapsed moments later and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The cause of his death was not made clear as investigators swang into action.
Costa Titch had become an African sensation with his hit song Big Flexa. He was also a great dancer.
