The Endoo Council of Elders has urged the government to intensify efforts against illegal firearms in the Kerio Valley region. The elders from the Chesongoch area in East Marakwet constituency, Elgeyo Marakwet County, have called for a government operation to confiscate illegal weapons in the area.

David Siangóle, leading the council, stated on Wednesday that the alarming rise in killings in the region is linked to the presence of illegal firearms among the local population. He remarked, “Families have been left devastated by these deaths and are living in constant fear of being the next targets.”
