An inquest into the death of Jeff Mwathi, who died in February this year at DJ Faxto’s home, will now be held on August 10th.
The matter was discussed before magistrate Zainab Abdul on Thursday, who directed the investigating officer to provide the documents he will use in the inquest to the parties involved.
At least 35 witnesses will be called to shed light on Mwathi’s death.
Anne Mwathi, the late Mwathi’s mother, who was present in court on Thursday, told the media that her family has been in agony since Mwathi died.
“We have cried, we have suffered… but tunaamini kuna mungu mbinguni,” she told the media.
“What I’d want is the government to take action on anyone that may be found guilty,”
DJ Fatxo, on whose house Mwathi is said to have died has so far been cleared after evidence failed to link him to the death.
The death sparked public outrage after it was revealed that the late interior designer died after a night of revelry.
