High Court has stopped the Law Society of Kenya elections for the position of Nairobi representative pending the hearing and determination of a case filed by city lawyer Mulindi Victor Khayesi.

Justice John Chigiti, while granting the orders, directed that the matter be mentioned on February 26 for purpose of taking a judgement date.

“Application dated 12.2.24 is hereby certified as urgent …..Leave is hereby granted in terms of prayer 2 of the said Application. The leave shall operate as a stay in terms of prayer 2,” reads the orders.

The city lawyer argued that the decision to lock him out was invalid.
