Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Justin Muturi will be fired any time starting today, Belgut Member of Parliament (MP) Nelson Koech claims.
Speaking on Citizen TV’s daybreak, Koech claimed that Muturi has ‘called for it’ given his recent criticism of the government over cases of abductions and extrajudicial killings, where Muturi took a direct aim at his boss, President William Ruto.
Muturi has been critical of the government regarding incidents of abduction, particularly of young people, and has dismissed threats of being removed from the Cabinet.
“He has pinched the president’s nose and I can tell you for sure, he is a man going home. It can even be today,” Koech argued.
MP Nelson Koech: CS Muturi appears to be seeking political mileage from abduction cases. He is simply daring President Ruto to fire him. If he had any morals, he would have resigned instead of continuing to work with the government #CitizenDayBreak @SamGituku pic.twitter.com/OMPBOX9JtC
Addressing the media on Friday at City Mortuary, where the bodies of two of four young men abducted in Mlolongo were found, Muturi expressed outrage at the continued disappearance and murder of Kenyan youths.
“This is murder most foul. It is only fair that, at this point, the country shelves any other business to discuss this matter of abductions and extrajudicial killings,” Muturi said, calling for investigation into the growing crisis.
Allies of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have since condemned Duale and other UDA lawmakers for calling for Muturi’s resignation.
