Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two individuals suspected of orchestrating a series of robberies targeting female students at Laikipia University’s main campus.

According to the DCI, multiple female victims had reported incidents involving the suspects at Losogwa Police Station in Nyahururu, leading police to involve DCI detectives in the investigation. The victims described how the suspects, identified as Dennis Kariuki Mbugua and Peter Omuzee Obungo, would ambush and assault them before stealing their valuables.

Following a thorough investigation, the DCI team tracked down the duo in Mai Mahiu, where they were arrested and taken into custody. “During the arrest, a mobile phone stolen from one of the victims was recovered,” the DCI stated.

The suspects have been handed over to DCI Nyahururu and are awaiting arraignment in court to face robbery charges.
