The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says that any access and withdrawal of money as requested by pastor Ezekiel Odero will prejudice the ongoing investigations.
Two days ago pastor Ezekiel filed an application seeking to be allowed to withdraw at least Ksh.50 million from his frozen bank accounts to enable him run his ministry and school.
However, investigating officer Martin Munene told the court that unfreezing part or wholly all the accounts will prejudice the investigating adding that they court should allow them conclude investigations.
During the hearing of the application ,Pastor Ezekiel through his lawyers Danstan Omari, Cliff Ombeta , Sam Nyaberi and Shadrak Wamboi asked the magistrate to allow the embattled pastor operate two bank account held in Cooperative bank.
While cross examining the officer, the court was told that there at least 28 bank accounts that are of interest.
16 accounts are held in Cooperative bank, 9 with NCBA, 1 Equity bank, 1 KCB and 1 bank account held at HFC.
The officer further told the court that investigations are ongoing adding that they have not yet received a report from Safaricom.
A ruling will be delivered tomorrow.
