Detectives in Nairobi have apprehended four persons of interest linked to a heist at a city hotel in which a gun was stolen alongside other valuables.
Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations confirmed the arrest, adding that the gun stolen from the hotel was recovered during the operation.

Heist at city hotel
In the statement released on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, DCI detailed that the saga began when a licensed firearm holder checked into a hotel in Kilimani area of Nairobi.

While he was out of the hotel room, unknown people broke in and made away with valuables, including the pistol.
Ammunition was also stolen during the incident that was reported to the police, prompting investigations.
“The saga began when the complainant, a licensed firearm holder, securely locked up his hotel room in Kilimani, confident that his prized possessions, including his Glock 19 and two magazines loaded with 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition, would be safe. Little did he know that upon returning from errands, he would find his hotel room turned upside down, with the pistol and ammunition missing,” the statement added.
Leads take detectives to Kangemi
Investigations were launched into the incident with sleuths following leads that took them to Kangemi in Dagoretti North, where the persons of interest were busted with the pistol.
“Determined to crack the case, investigators launched a meticulous inquiry. Refusing to let the trail go cold, forensic leads steered the detectives to Kangemi in Dagoretti North, where the hunt for the stolen firearm reached its decisive turn,” DCI said.
A search in the residence occupied by the quartet saw detectives recover the firearm, with the suspects taken in.
DCI added that the four are in police custody for processing and arraignment in court.
“A search of their residence soon unveiled the stolen pistol, hidden but not well enough. The suspects are now in custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment,” added the statement.
