According to DCI Kenya, the operation was conducted at around 1:04 a.m. by officers from Ngong Police Station in collaboration with colleagues from Mwea Makutano Police Post.
The team acted on intelligence to track down suspects believed to be hiding in the Makutano Ngomongo area of Kirinyaga County.
The suspects were identified as Alex Wanjiku alias Aleko, Job Wachira Wanjohi, and Francis Kinyanjui Wanjiku alias Kinyaa.
Authorities say the trio is linked to a recent violent robbery incident in Ngong on March 12, in which a victim was shot and seriously injured.
During the arrest, police found a Glock 17 handgun that was loaded with eleven rounds of ammo from one of the suspects.
Along with items thought to have been worn during the crime, investigators also confiscated a red motorbike that was allegedly used as a getaway vehicle.
As investigations continue, the suspects are being detained at Ngong Police Station while officials try to determine whether they have any connection to other criminal activity in the area.
The public has been urged by the DCI to keep disseminating information that could help combat crime.
